Things to take care of while planning for an International Holiday

Who doesn't want to go beyond their countries and explore the whole world and everything it has to offer. Without traveling as far and wide as possible, one’s life remains anything but complete. On the other hand, planning an international holiday is not a cakewalk. Here are some tips and guidelines to help you through it.

Get your insurance done:
If you do not have travel insurance, get one. It will cover you in case anything goes wrong while you are traveling in the foreign untries, like loss or theft of luggage, sudden cancellation of trains or flights, any sort of medical assistance and so on. It will be particularly of help in case of international holidays.

Keep copies of passport and flight tickets:

Bring a copy of your passport and flight tickets along with you, so that in case they get stolen or lost, you can still show some proof to the authorities of your citizenship and airplane tickets booking.

Be safe monetarily:
Money is always a big factor when traveling. Look up the conversion rates beforehand to avoid being surprised and broke after reaching the airport. Also, make sure your credit/debit cards are accepted globally or at least in the country you are visiting. If it does, carry minimum cash and withdraw money from the ATMs there to avoid the extra charges of foreign exchange centers.

Do your research:
If you are hiring an agent – well and good; but if you are not, look up the place and chalk down a tentative itinerary of places you want to visit. See if any of them require prior booking or permission. Do not cram your tour plan with a lot of destinations. Keep it less hectic and try to stock up more on experiences and memories.

Keep the essentials in the handbag:
You don’t want to end up stranded in case your luggage is late from the customs. Keep all the essentials like medicines, chargers, and guidebooks in your handbag, along with an extra set of clothes and undergarments. It will help if your bags are late for over a day.

Register with your embassy:
It is not mandatory, but a safety measure to be taken. Especially in countries which might be a little volatile at present, it is always better to be in touch with your country’s embassy. .

Don’t forget to keep these in mind and have a great trip abroad!
